Virginia Irene Falahee's Obituary
The last surviving member of her Sierminski clan, Virginia passed away peacefully April 17, 2016 at the age of 89. She was born, raised and spent nearly her entire life in Jackson. She attended St. Stanislaus Grade School and graduated from Jackson High School in 1944. She worked on and off in the secretarial field and was adept in the ancient skill of shorthand. Her primary job was raising her family. Virginia was proud of her Polish heritage and often could be heard speaking in Polish to her siblings, Ann Olynik, Eleanor Magiera and Jean Maino, to whom she was extremely close. They were often spotted in local fast food joints drinking a senior cup of coffee and chattering away. They preceded her in death along with her brother, Frank Sierminski. Virginia met her husband Charles on a blind date and they were married for 35 years until he passed away in 1986. She leaves a legacy of four children, Charles (Pamela) Falahee Jr., Kenneth Falahee, Patricia DeNardin and Karen (Craig) Butler, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. For the past several years Virginia has been a resident of Vista Grande Villa and the family would like to thank them for their care and attention to her needs and also thanks to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice for their wonderful work. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, where Virginia was a charter member, on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11 am with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. Interment St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Friday from 10 am until service time and at the funeral home Thursday evening 6-8 pm with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 pm. Contributions in her memory are directed to Our Lady of Fatima. Dziekuje and Do widzenia mother. We will miss you.
