Virginia D Reynolds' Obituary
REYNOLDS, VIRGINIA D. Age 81, of Michigan Center, passed away at Bethany Care Home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Reynolds; fiancAC., John Brainard; parents, Dwight and Elna Purdy; sisters, Gloria Dietrich and Peggy Cross and brother, Michael Purdy. Virginia is survived by two daughters, Debra (Rick Smith) Pariseau-Smith and Karen (Marlin) Hughes, both of South Carolina; three sons, Kevin Granger of Jackson, Allan (Jody) Rokita of Spring Arbor and Ray (Donna) Rokita of Lansing; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Pamela Stephens of Texas; several nieces and nephews. She retired after 40 years as office manager for Doctors F.B. Olmsted and Lorraine Grinnell. She then worked at Preferred Manufacturing Associates as part-time office manager. Virginia was a member of the First Congregational Church in Jackson. She volunteered for many groups, including her church, Department of Social Services, Family Independence Agency, Jackson County Angel Tree program, Lions Club and the Carp Carnival, as well as the Catholic Charities RSVP. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, genealogy, playing bingo, crocheting and attending classic car shows. Services to honor Virginia's life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Kerry Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. For those who wish, contributions in Virginia's memory may be made to Bethany Care Home, 1000 E.
