W. Joyce Ruppel's Obituary
Age 89, of Jackson, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Joyce was born in Adrian, MI on June 17, 1932, the daughter of Virgil Bruce and Malena (Harris) Tipton. On April 5, 1958, she married Richard G. Ruppel and he preceded her in death in 2008.
Joyce is survived by three children, Peggy Ruppel of Maryland, Sherri Ruppel of Illinois and Douglas (Gail) Ruppel of Texas; beloved granddaughter, Anneliese Ruppel and three bonus grandchildren, Daniel, Adam and Rachelle Trafton.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Grover Tipton.
For 37 years, Joyce was a teacher with the Napoleon Community Schools, retiring in 1994. She was a long-time member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women's group. She spent many hours, along with Richard, volunteering at Foote Hospital and was active in the Foote Hospital Auxiliary.
Cremation has taken place a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Napoleon Lions Memorial Park (7935 Napoleon Road, Napoleon, MI) beginning with a service starting at 2:00 pm. Fellowship time with light lunch afterward will follow. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
