Warren Douglas "Doug" Smith's Obituary
Warren Douglas Smith "Doug" passed away on January 31, 2022 and has journeyed into the loving arms of Jesus and his loving parents Warren and Lucille who passed on before him. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda who enjoyed all the precious moments of love and giggles that his somewhat quirky personality provided.
Reluctantly after many bouts of illnesses, he leaves behind two much loved sons, Brian and Trevor; their wives, Abbie and Tracy; and grandchild, Zachary; also sisters, Dolores Charles and Marylane Ryun and nieces and nephews.
At age 22, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served from 1966 to 1969. Doug worked at Clark Equipment, Aeroquip and Sikorsky Helicopters over the years. His sense of humor was one of his most endearing qualities. He was a history buff, a car collector, a lover of old country music and country dancing, a member of Brooklyn Sportsman Club, loved traveling, eating out and being with family and friends.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4250 Page Avenue in Michigan Center with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and memorial at 11:00 am. For those who wish, contributions in Doug's memory may be given to Christ Lutheran Church.
