Wayne D Locke's Obituary
LOCKE, WAYNE D. Age 89, of Leoni Township, passed away at the Allegiance Hospice Home January 6, 2014. He is survived by three sons, Harvey (Julie) Locke of Kalkaska, Dennis (Jan) Locke of Michigan Center and Thomas (Judy) Locke of Ohio, seven grandchildren, Kris (Bruce) Mast, Chad (Tanya) Locke, Angie (Bob) Patrick, Gina (Marlo) Surbrook, Katie (Ross) Bradley, Jessica (Lee) Mixon and Geoffrey Locke, 17 great-grandchildren, Allison, Austin, Dustin, Bree, Noah, Bruce Steven (Erin), Candice, Jacquelynn (Adam), Jonathan, Ariel, Camrie, Rachel, Joseph, Bowen, Barrett, Ellyn and Jesson, one great-great-granddaughter, Lilybelle, three sisters, Dorothy Rosenbrook, Shirley Magnuson and Darlene Marshall, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy in 2007, parents, Fred and Nora Locke, grandson Kelly Locke, brothers, Ralph, Faye, Emmet, Clarence and Fred Jr., sister Eldora and his beloved dog, Sally. Wayne was a retired truck driver with Teamsters Local #169, a Navy and US Merchant Marine Veteran of World War II, in his youth was a Golden Gloves Boxer, was an avid fisherman and hunter and Tiger Baseball fan. He was a member of the Michigan Center Bible Church where services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11 am with Pastor John Tovey officiating. Private interment at Springport Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. The family would like to thank the Allegiance Hospice Home staff for their compassionate care of Wayne. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Michigan Center Bible Church.
