William Russell Brooks' Obituary
Age 89, of Jackson, died peacefully August 1, 2018. He was born July 4, 1929 to Hugh and Pauline Brooks in Lansing, Michigan and grew up in Addison, Michigan, living on Silver Lake. He graduated from Addison High School then went on to Barber School. He worked as a barber in Jackson, Manchester and for the University of Michigan. He finished his career at GM as a painter. He loved to build and fly model airplanes. He served the Nation in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie and son Terri Kent. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Glenna) and sister Marlene Winchester, his son, William (Monica), Robert (Cyndi), Rodger (Mandy), his daughters, Deb (Chuck) Gerlach and Sherry Comrad, eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Pleasant Manor and Great Lakes Hospice for all the care they gave dad in the last year of his life. At his request cremation has taken place. Mr. Brooks will be interred with full Military Honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 1:30 pm.
