William Douglas Devine's Obituary
Age 78, of Jackson, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He is survived by his beloved family of four children, Patricia (Randy) Gattshall of Munith, Bill Devine of Naples, FL, Doug (Julie) Devine and Christine Devine, all of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, Amy, Andy, Laura, Aubrey, Cameron, Nolan, Autumn, Shayla, Alannah, Nevaeh and Zendeah; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan and Elizabeth; four siblings, Kathy (Jim) Thomas, Jean (Chuck) Goostrey, Jack (Sally) Devine and Jan (Greg) Stack, all of Jackson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his best friend and mother of his children, Judy Devine. He worked many years for Conrail; then started several business ventures which he worked until his passing. Bill truly loved his time spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, listening to jazz music, telling jokes and lots of stories that seemed too far-fetched to be true. He was always willing to help out worthy people when in need. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 N. Francis Street in Jackson will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Father Chas Canoy as celebrant. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday beginning at 1:00 pm. For those who wish, contributions in Bill's memory to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
