William James Mohney's Obituary
Mohney, William James Age 80, of Michigan Center, passed away at Allegiance Health June 2, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy; grandson, Kenny (James Warner) Mohney; three nieces, Maudie Rieder, Sarah (Paul) Lindsey and Jenny (Jeff) Taylor and nephew, Sam Rieder. He was preceded in death by his son, James in 2011 and his parents, Harry and Ruby (maiden-Ally) Mohney. He attended West Intermediate High School in Jackson where he was a track star, served the nation in the US Army during the Korean War, retired from Goodyear after 34 years of service, in retirement worked as Head of Maintenance at Save Time Convenience Stores. He also plied the locksmith trade and was a local landlord. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11 am with Pastor Kerry Snyder of the First Congregational Church of Jackson officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Addison. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 6-8 pm. Veterans Honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation.
