William Robert Porter's Obituary
William “Bill” Robert Porter, 76, of Norvell, passed away April 13, 2024. Bill’s family and friends will gather for a private family service and military honors at a later date at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Interment of ashes will be at Somerset Center Cemetery.
He was born on April 27, 1948, in Sommerset, Michigan, to Kenneth Serge and Marie Evelyn (Hummon) Porter. Bill graduated from Addison High School and soon after enlisted in the Army. He will be remembered for his love of helping his family and friends. Bill was very self-sufficient, spending time working as a mold maker. He enjoyed wood working, crafting kayaks, gardening, camping, and he loved riding his bike. Bill was proud of his service in the Vietnam War.
Bill will be missed by his family and close friends; nephews, Andrew, and Scott (Angel) Porter; niece, Jane (Rodney) Voorheis; sister-in-law, Nancy Porter; and great-nieces and nephews, Logan Porter, Abigail and Grace Porter, and Hailey and Noah Voorheis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marie Porter; brothers, Richard and James (Sandra) Porter; and twin great-nephews, Andrew and James Porter.
