William J. Rupert's Obituary
William Jay Rupert Sr., of Michigan Center, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Jackson, Michigan.
Bill was a hardworking and colorful man who spent much of his career at Clark Equipment before retiring from Aeroquip in Jackson. A true outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting and fishing and was always ready for a trip to the casino. He especially loved a good card game, and nothing brought him more joy than sitting around a table playing with friends or family. His humor, grit, and love of life made him unforgettable to those who knew him.
He is survived by his sisters Marilyn Vail (Ralph), Mary Alexander (the late Bryce), Judy (the late Al); brother Dwight Rupert (the late Dawn); brother Thomas (Joe) Rupert (Lynda); sister Grace Garcia (Raul); his son William Jay Rupert Jr. (Peg); daughters Sheryl Hildreth (John), Mary Rowley, and Laurie Marvin (Tim). He also leaves behind grandchildren Jessee Rupert, Will Rupert, Crystal Marvin, Michael Crampton, Jay Doney, Michael Doney, Amy Doney, Sean Rowley, Jessica Whitt, and Elizabeth Hildreth. Bill was deeply loved by his many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his son, Samuel L. Rupert; grandson Timothy Marvin Jr.; and brothers Leroy Rupert, Robert (Pete) Rupert (survived by wife Lynda), Everette Rupert, and Richard (Dick) Rupert.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Eineder Funeral Homes of Michigan Center, Michigan, and William will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Jackson, Michigan.
