Zora B. Harris (Thompson)'s Obituary
Harris (Thompson), Zora B. Age 99, of Jackson, passed away at the Allegiance Hospice Home September 13, 2013. She is survived by two children, Lynna (Lewis) Voorheis and Gary (Jan) Thompson; three grandchildren, Rodney and Ryan Voorheis, Rena (Paul Coats) Sexton; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel (Jennifer), Rodney Jr. (Janie), Cecil, Brandon, Hanna, Kayleigh and Ryan Jr. Voorheis, Nathan (Heather) Adams, Jacob (Cassandra), Jared and James Sexton; eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Thompson and Raymond Harris and her sister, Naomi. Zora was an accomplished musician, playing and teaching the organ, piano and other instruments, worked as a sales clerk at Fields and Jacobson's Department Stores in Jackson, enjoyed fishing, and was a devoted Christian, her home Church was the Skiff Lake Bible Church and she belonged to the King's Daughters Christian Women's Club. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11 am with Pastor John Larkin officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday evening 6-8 pm. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Allegiance Hospice Home.
