June. This is Ruth Ann Vernon and Goldie from FL daughter. For some reason thought of you and Buff this morning. Thinking of how mom said to daddy “do you think Ruth Ann’s paying these people to take cadre of us” because you were so good about getting them things and watching out for them. I remember our talks while daddy and buff sat on the bench with the men. Also the time you and buff stopped on way to FL and spent night with us. Of course buff had to have morning coffee run so Mike came over to take him. You were such wonderful people and I’m sorry to hear about Buff but glad to find you and let you know what an impact you had on both our lives. If you’re up to it would love to hear from you. Duane and I truly cherished Buff’s love for community. We worked with him on many Clarklake Community Church projects. We sat together at ballgames and potlucks. He carried the true spirit of Christ and will be sadly missed in this world.

Gonna miss you Buff. We had fun and great laughs along the way. Buff had a green thumb, never will forget the sunflower that was taller than the garage. The giant birdhouse, the Garden Of Eating, all the beautiful flowers, and his love for all things Michigan State.
His humor was quick and a slight glint in his eye would tell on him...he was gearing up to give a zinger...always ready for a chuckle.
Buff was generous, kind, and a wonderful man. He loved family, friends, his church, and his sweet Sadie, who I hope greeted him again.
Buff never left any question as to who was the love of his life. He and June knew they were meant to be together on the journey and they were in love forever. To witness them was to be in awe. They made life look fun.
I hope you now know all the answers, Buff. Be at peace. Love you forever

Buff was always busy. He was in the garden, in his shop working on a doll house, or making a bird feeder. He was a man of many talents.
He will be missed as a Spartan Fan! He will be missed as a quick to laugh, quick to tease, and a wonderful friend to Ken and me and so many others.
Soar high my friend, you will stay in our hearts forever. We have enjoyed you and know you are loved.

in honor of Buff.

My name is Launa Steinhauer, my maiden name was Maness. I graduated from Grass Lake in 1982 alongside Buff's daughter, Dawn. Buff was my (our) volleyball coach. I went on to coach Grass Lake 8th grade volleyball for ten years and both of my daughters played volleyball for GL (and AAU). Buff had such an impact on me that I have always told funny and great stories about my volleyball days with my besties and my favorite coach, Buff. I am grateful that he was in my life in my formative years.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. He has gained his wings. May he fly high and may his memories and legacy live on in our hearts forever.
