Buff Pollard Jr's Obituary
Roy Sherman Pollard, Jr, 89, formerly of Grass Lake and Brooklyn passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Arbor North Senior Living. Roy’s family and friends will gather Monday, May 4, 2026 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel. His Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Matthew SeGraves of New Life Baptist Church will serve as officiant. A private burial of ashes will take place at Oakwood Cemetery (Grass Lake East Cemetery).
He was born on September 5, 1936, in Webster Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, to Roy and Marie (Teeples) Pollard. Roy married the love of his life, June Ross, on June 21, 1958, in Napoleon, Michigan. He will be remembered as a devoted family man and follower of Christ with a great sense of humor and love for all. Roy is a Grass Lake High School graduate, class of 1956. He proudly served as an Army National Guard for 12 years being based out of Camp Grayling. Roy was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 18 years and General Motors for 12 years. He is a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Addison. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, being a coach for many sports, Diamond Art and Bingo. He also played songs on a washboard, spoons and womper stompers. Above all, Roy cherished his time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, June; his children, Stephen (Christine) Pollard, Christopher (Jolene) Pollard, Dawn (Andrea Stilwell) Pollard, and Gregory (Julia) Pollard; siblings, Albert, Dale, Stanley, Anna, Ruth, Terry, Virginia and Holly; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marie; infant son, Jeffrey and a brothers, Bob and Dick.
