David Frank Bonkowski's Obituary
David Frank Bonkowski, 84, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. David’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel. His scripture service will follow at 11:00 am with. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery.
He was born on January 13, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to Martin and Fannie (Sadeckie) Bonkowski. He will be remembered for his love of his family and being a dedicated worker. David retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. David enjoyed his fishing trips to their cabin in Kinde, Michigan. His hobbies consisted of woodworking, watching old movies and solving murder mysteries. He will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his children, Michael (Pam) Bonkowski, Andrew Bonkowski, David W. Bonkowski and Karen Christian; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four nieces; two brothers-in-law Ronnie Sadeckie and Jerry Sadecki and lastly his faithful companion Fergie (the Yorkie). He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda, daughter-in-law Susan and son-in-law Donald Christian, Sr.
