Kevin Berry
I am Kevin Berry. I worked with Dave many years ago in Blissfield. At the time I was in high school and then College. I enjoyed working with Dave even with his attempts to play practical jokes on me and other employees. I remember one occasion when he put Vasoline on the door handles of my car. That was fun to clean up. But pay back was coming. I worked doing various jobs in the store and Pharmacy. Over some time I collected styrofoam packing peanuts and then one night near closing he asked me to move his pickup from the back to the front of the store so I did that gladly. Once to the front I left a window cracked down and poured boxes of peanuts in the cab. He wasn’t very pleased, opening the door with a waterfall of styrofoam flowing out. Off he went driving down the road with foam flying out from the windows. Not environmentally correct but funny as can be.
Dave always extended an invite to stop over and go out on the boat but unfortunately I never took him up on it. It had been some time since I had paid a visit so I stopped in one summer day only to find a young man working on a car in the driveway. Unknowing to me it was one of his sons. I explained who I was and ask for Dave and he gave me the bad news. That was a gut punch. David will be missed by many. He was a good man and I feel lucky that our lives crossed those many years ago. I hope this ramble finds his family and maybe brings some warms to help with their loss.
