Grandma Donna, I thank you for all the love and kindness that you freely gave to me and my family over the years. You and Papa Hugh are truly special people. Growing up, we would regularly visit your home. You always made it a delight and made us feel welcome. I am going to miss our conversations, your kindness, your humor (Big Mouth Frog), the smell of your house, the private concerts and all the wonderful things that made you, you.
I have so many memories that bring a smile to my face, but also tears because I am going to miss you. I know that you and Papa Hugh are reunited, which brings a level of comfort. I look forward to seeing you both again someday. I love you, Grandma Donna

I have so many good memories of being with Donna and her family, especially with Kris and Terri. We made cookies, rode horses, saw a small tornado touch down and rise up again! Later years, I called her to meet with me to get her opinion on a situation I was facing. I knew I could trust her from past conversations. She was a follower of Christ, family, teacher and she was like a second Mom to me. I knew she loved me. She was fun, she gave of her time, and I loved her and I will miss her. but I know I will see her again someday! Sincerely, Sue Cottrell Bailey

I am happy Donna is with Jesus and her dear Hugh. They were very close and as often happens, she died only four months after he died. Donna was very loving, smiling with dimples and fun. I loved her singing at church and I remember Terri Lyn as a baby I held. My love and prayers to the family. I am her cousin through her grandmother Ella Hess Howland sister of my grandpa.

Loved both Hugh and Donna. They were great friends and Christian examples to us. We got to know them in Florida and greatly cherished their friendship. We Rejoice now that Donna, Hugh and Terrie are all together in Heaven for Eternity. She was such a spry, sharp lady that used Emailing and Facebook near to the end of her life. I am glad she loved living on the Farm "The Original Murray Wm. Hess Farm" where they raised 11 children and Burr was my Grandpa Hess. She will be missed by her two children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but Thank God she is now with Jesus as her Savior and SINGING IN HEAVEN! A 2nd Cousin, Wilma (Hess) Forsythe from Grand Rapids, MI.
