Gerry Sherwood is part of my memories as a kid. She was like a second Mom. She was loving even to us neighbor kids! So happy to have reconnected on social media and catch up. I graduated with Gerry in 1952. I always wanted to have her as a girlfriend but it never happened. She was a beautiful lady and cheerleader . Gerry and Darrell married a few months before Carolyn and myself. We became good friends and enjoyed doing things with them. In later years we always enjoyed dinner with them the night before the class reunion. Also enjoyed meals at the Cowboy. I will miss her dearly and will try to see Darrell as often as I can. We know you are watching over us and especially your family. Love your good friend
Grief is defined as "deep sorrow" but I have trouble believing that when ANYONE thinks of this beautiful soul that there would be sorrow. She was a bright, shiny light that cannot be extinguished. Watch for her light shining in your room or on that football field or in your thoughts. She was a friend, mother and grandmother to so many that were not family and the very best to her family. My prayers are with you Mickey and Mike and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. I know her light cannot be replicated but GOD needed her now. May you find some peace.
