Helen Mary Dusse's Obituary
Helen Dusse peacefully passed away January 25, 2025, at the age of 106. Helen was under the loving care of her family and Laury Radala at Garden Estates.
Helen was born in Cement City, Michigan, a descendant of a pioneer family. Helen enjoyed children, from which we all benefited. She attended Albion College and became a kindergarten teacher at Jonesville Elementary School. Helen married William Dusse. Together they lived a wonderful life for 45 years in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. In 2012, she returned to Cement City to be nearer her family.
Helen is survived by many nephews and nieces: Eric (Arlene) Wittenberg,
G. Daniel (Connie) Wittenberg, Fern (Charles) Pearson, Willis (Sherry) Wittenberg, H. Michael (Robin) Wittenberg, Juddy (Robert) Phillips, David (Susan) Wittenberg, Linda (George) Stegeman.
Great nephews and nieces: Cynthia (Liam) Starrs, Jennifer (Jeff) James, Genevieve Murkami, Amber (Michael) Pellitier, George (Andrea) Stegeman Jr., Amber Matt, Tessa (Kyle) Gilbertson, Nathan (Erica) Phillips, Trevor (Samantha) Wittenberg, Daniel (Shayna) Wittenberg, Winfield (Haley) Pearson, Korrine (Drew) Posey, Analise (Kristen) Wittenberg, Christy (Brandon) Weatherwax, Mason Seifert, Lindsey (Vasilis) Nisiotis, Sarah Seifert, Andrew Seifert, Angeline Trotter (Thomas), and many great, great nephews and nieces.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William; parents, Gustav and Fern Wittenberg Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Julius Wittenberg, Homer and Lois Wittenberg, Gustav and Rose Ann Wittenberg Jr.; nieces, Anne Seifert and Christine Jamieson; great niece, Audra Carreno; and great nephew, Jason Wittenberg
Helen was a kind, loving and generous person who brightened and enriched all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. It was a great life well lived.
