My deepest condolences go out to the Dillay family. I started with Gerdau just over a year ago and John was the first guy I met; he took me in immediately. Like Steve, I considered John a good friend. Though I only knew him a short while, he taught me a lot, shared great stories, and was always a joy to talk to. If there's one thing I know about John, he LOVES his grand kids and is very proud of them. I will miss his voice across the line on our office phone.Drew Callahan
I am so sorry for your loss. I met John over five years ago when I started buying the scrap for the mill. John was not just a coworker, we became friends. We had many discussions about family, fishing, fixing and some about work. I talked to him recently to be sure I had his correct number so we could stay in touch. I will miss him. Steve Fischer

I called on John at the mill for years and loved talking to him. He's a great family man, loved his fishing and all the children and grand children. This is a shock and I'll miss him. RIP Johnny.
He loved his grandchildren, watching them play various sports. He was always there to cheer them on, and so proud. He was a kind man, with a strong love for his family, and a great sense of humor.
