John Richard Dillay II's Obituary
Age 61, of Napoleon Township, passed away at his home August 13, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lisa J. (maiden-Brock) Dillay; their children, Heather (Patrick) Buckley and John R. (Melissa) Dillay III; special nieces, Leslie (Don) Presley, Amy (Eric) Lee and Stacy Konieczki; four grandchildren, Kori Buckley, Allison Dillay, AJ Buckley and John R. "JJ" Dillay IV; siblings, Larry (Bev) Dillay, Mark (Dianna Schultz) Dillay, Marie Konieczki, Jeannette Dillay, Bernice Dillay, Greg (Fran) Dillay, Gerard (Cathy French) Dillay and Joe Dillay; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard and Esther (maiden-Nastally) Dillay I. John very recently retired from Gerdau (MacSteel) where he worked in supervision for many years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed all times with family. They could rely on him to fix anything. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor sports, especially baseball, but his proudest moments were watching his grandchildren play in their various athletic events. At his request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from noon to 3 pm at the Polish Falcons Nest, 638 Round Lake Drive, Michigan Center, MI 49254 Those who wish are encouraged to make a contribution in his memory to the Napoleon Athletic Boosters.
