Mark Jeffrey Avis' Obituary
Mark Avis, 69, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family on April 14, 2023. Mark’s family and friends will gather on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel, 137 S. Main St., Brooklyn, MI.
Mark was born on July 5, 1953, in Jackson, Michigan to John and Beverly (Wilcox) Avis. Mark married the love of his life, Helen Beard, on a beautiful evening on November 5, 1977, in Jackson, Michigan. He will be remembered as a man who deeply loved his family and loved to help others anyway he could. He was a native of Clarklake and worked at his family’s orchard, Avis Orchards, while growing up. He played football and basketball for Napoleon and never stopped loving sports. He coached Columbia youth football for several years. Mark was a man who enjoyed his routine and always stayed busy with projects, whether they were his own or others. He had a “green thumb” and loved working outside.
Mark will be missed by his wife, Helen; his boys, Benjamin Avis, Daniel (Mallory) Avis, and Samuel (Christina) Avis; siblings, John Avis and David Avis; grandchildren Gavin, Jenna, Alexis, soon-to-be expected “baby Avis”; his mother-in-law Betty (Joe) Crochet and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents “Big Dad” and “Big Mom” and his grandparents.
