I have such great memories of my Aunt Nell through the years. All the good times in Michigan and the family trips she made out West to see us, she really was a big part of my life growing up. One of my favorite memories was at the Betsie river cabin, swimming with Nell and her taking us on a fantastic canoe trip down the river.
So glad I got to see her in Colorado last year when she came out for a visit, which she always seemed to find a way to make the trip, even at 93! It was so nice to hear her telling stories in her wonderful Michigan accent, just as funny as always, I’ll miss that. I’ll miss her calm and wise ways too, always had good advice and could put everything in perspective.
Of course I have to mention the hand knit Christmas stockings she made for all of us, I’ll cherish it forever as it always reminds me of her. I love that she kept making them for each new generation of kids, I did notice the stockings were getting bigger with each new generation :) These are just one of many reminders of a life well lived and well shared.
Nell, I know you are at peace with your Dave now and I’ll always remember your time here with me, it was fantastic.
Love you,
Steve
