Ruby Edna Kuhl's Obituary
Ruby Edna (Morrow) Kuhl peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 9, 2025. Ruby’s family and friends will gather 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Sunday May 11, 2025 at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel and from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Monday May 12, 2025 at Community Bible Church 8400 Sharon Hollow Rd., Manchester. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ron Clark as officiate. Burial will take place Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Brookside Cemetery, 501 N. Union Tecumseh, Michigan.
She was born on December 11, 1928 to Everett and Waynie (Sloan) Morrow in Detroit Michigan. Ruby was an only child. She was raised in Highland Park, Michigan.
Ruby studied education, receiving her undergraduate degree in 1950 from Berea College in Kentucky. While at Berea, Ruby met the love of her life, Howard Kuhl, Jr. She & Howard were married on December 27, 1952. Ruby continued her education and received a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Michigan in 1959.
Ruby and Howard moved to Saline, Michigan in 1959. She worked for Saline Area Schools as a substitute teacher, a teacher, assistant principal and principal between 1956 and 1970. Ruby was honored by being inducted into the Foundation for Saline Area School’s Hall of Fame in 2022 for her many contributions to Saline Area Schools including supporting the development of the Title 1 Reading Program. She was also active in her community as the president of the “Child Study Club”, member of the March of Dimes, girl scout leader, and assistant superintendent of the Saline Fair.
Ruby also loved quilting, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was very active in her church, Community Bible Church of Manchester.
Ruby was preceded in death by Howard in 2022. Ruby is survived by three children: Gregory (Joyce), David (Diana) and Jean (Rich) Entrup, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Ruby is also survived by her sister-in-law Jeanette Kuhl.
