Captain Seames was a kind and caring leader who fostered a culture of respect, fairness, and public service at the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety. He was integral in the transition of the department to a full-service law enforcement agency starting in 1990. Terry was my shift lieutenant when I hired on in 1985 and we (with Sgt. Kevin McNulty) attended the police academy together in 1987. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to be mentored by and to serve with this man of integrity. He will be greatly missed.

As a fellow classmate of FBI National Academy Session #219 with Terry, I send heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Our session has stayed close over the years through online and in person connections, and I am so sad to hear of his passing. On behalf of our close to 250 NA classmates, Terry made a positive difference in the world and will be missed.
