Wendy Kay Samp's Obituary
Wendy Kay Samp, 60, from Alpena MI, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital surrounded by family.
She was born on September 24, 1964, in Alpena, MI, to William and Maureen (Pierce) Benson. Wendy married Joseph Samp, on October 11, 1999, in Las Vegas, NV. She will be remembered as a great woman who loved her family dearly. Wendy graduated from Alpena High School in the class of 82. She spent her career purchasing and procuring for U.S. Silica, where she became the Vice President. Wendy retired in 2023, but still consulted for Samp Services. She and her husband owned a log cabin up north for 20 years. Wendy loved spending time up north, especially when her children and grandchildren came up to visit. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Mexico. Wendy was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed reading the bible and keeping up with her daily prayers. She loved golfing when she was younger and as she got a little older, she enjoyed quieter activities, like reading and playing games on her phone. Wendy accomplished so much in her lifetime, too many to name, but her favorite part of her life was spending time with her family. She will truly be missed by all her knew her.
Wendy will be missed by her husband, Joseph Samp; her children, Alex (Tracy) Hunter, Bailey (John Dindia) Samp, Ashley (Vernon) Dyer and Reiley Samp; her father, William Benson; her sisters, Anna Benson and Serenity Milligan; 6 grandchildren; and many other beloved family members. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maureen Pierce.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Please leave a message of comfort for Wendy’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
